NURSERY: Last Thursday, September 19th, our students surprised the entire school community with a delightful farm-themed project called “Little Farmers.” The event was full of joy and color, beginning with artistic performances where the little ones showcased their talents through song and dance inspired by rural life. They also demonstrated their English skill with presentations filled with enthusiasm and creativity.
The green area, known as “The Triangle”, was transformed into a lively farm fair, with interactive game stations that allowed the children to enjoy and apply everything they had learned about farm life in a fun way. All participants, including students, teachers, and families, dressed up as farmers, creating a festive and friendly atmosphere. This project not only allowed the children to explore a fascinating theme, but also strengthened their learning through play and creativity. It was an unforgettable day for everyone!
PREKINDER: We had a fantastic day for our little learners! They presented their wonderful project, ‘Super Kiddos Squad,’ to their proud parents. It was amazing to see how much they’ve grown and learned over the year.
Our students focused on self-care, caring for others, and independence. They shared their knowledge about healthy eating, staying active, and practicing good hygiene. We were incredibly impressed with their ability to explain these important concepts through various center activities.
It was a heartwarming experience to witness the joy and pride on their faces as they showcased their hard work. Thank you to all the parents for coming out and supporting your children’s accomplishments!
KINDER: Our students showcased everything they learned throughout this wonderful project, “My Toys,” to their parents. From the different types of toys and how to play with them to the importance of play in emotional and logical development, the children showed how much they have grown. The children shared some outstanding creations, such as the booklet “My Toys Book” and the toys they built from scratch using recycled materials. Also, they sang and played a beautiful chant poem. Further, they acted out a role-play about toys and games, comparing the past and the present. We wrapped up this project by remembering that toys hold significant meaning for our children, and that play is not only fun but also a key tool for learning and sharing with others.
TRANSITION: On September 12th, we presented the progress that children made this year during the project “How My Identity Represents Who I Am” to parents. The event began with two musical performances: students sang “Mi Trencito Sabanero” and “La Muela.” Then, families and children rotated through four stations. In the first, they visited a museum to see their children’s artistic work, including lapbooks about Colombia and crafted flowers for a “silleta”. In the second station, students performed a role play about Colombia’s people and landscapes. The third station involved decorating a Chiva using playdough fruits and vegetables. Finally, families participated in a “Sabelotodo” game to learn about typical Colombian animals. Everyone enjoyed the activities and the students’ impressive presentation.
