And the CASSI goes to….
On Monday, January 27, 2025, we were very excited to welcome our students back for the first day of the 2025 school year. As part of our welcoming event the students were treated to a star-studded award show, the CASSI Awards, with our wonderful teaching team being the stars of the show.
“It was a great opportunity to see our colleagues being so creative,” said Camilo Andres Perez Vargas (Computer Science, grades 1 and 2 / MUNCAS Press Sponsor). Each department was given a CASSI award as a fun way of introducing students to their teachers through the guise of an award show. “It was a special moment for sharing and starting the year with great energy.”
Each department created a special presentation to compliment the award presentations: the primary Math department creating a quiz show, the secondary science department reenacting a scene from Star Wars, there was a performance of the Michael Jackson hit, Billie Jean, from our music department, and the wonderful videos from the Arts, Physical Education, Language Arts and Social Studies department among many others.
“I had a lot of fun,” said Diego Alejandro Ramírez Salazar (Phys-Ed Coordinator), “it was a great opportunity to see everyone getting into the spirit. I particularly liked seeing the Storm Troopers.”
While the teachers certainly enjoyed themselves, the students also had a fun time. “It was really great for the teachers and students to interact in this way – the theme and the emotion made it really interesting,” said Juan David Forero (10A). While noting that the Primary ceremony ran a little long, Helena Heredia Buitrago and Juliana Ardila Vergara (5C) said that “It was fun to meet our teachers. They presented it in an enjoyable way.”
