As part of the commitment to shaping transformative leaders, on Saturday, February 22nd, the parent workshop for the preschool and first-grade section took place. This activity was led by the teachers from the Self-Contained and Language departments. The workshop was divided into two important parts. One of these was dedicated to the methodology and resources used in teaching the first language in each of the different grades, starting in Nursery and ending in First Grade. The other part of the workshop focused on the methodology and resources implemented in Self-Contained area classes. The parents played a very important role in the activity as they had to carry out the tasks that their children typically do during a school day. From building a catapult to practice scientific skills, using ten frames to locate quantities, playing dominoes to review numbers, and even starting to talk about addition and subtraction, to practicing and learning vocabulary from the Language and Literacy classes, the parents thoroughly enjoyed the variety of resources used in the classrooms to learn through experience and play.
