This trimester, CAS proudly participated in three important mathematic competitions, demonstrating the talent and dedication of the primary students.
Our 1st and 2nd graders participated in the Matific Math International Olympiad where young learners, Martín Pabón and Isabella Jiménez, helped to place CAS sixth among more than 20 international schools. Their enthusiasm and hard work were recognized with special awards, highlighting their strong foundation in math and problem-solving.
Students from grades 3, 4, and 5 also participated in an international math competition hosted by Colegio Abraham Lincoln. Competing against schools from around the globe, Antonio Corrales, Juan Jeronimo Sánchez and Martina Rico, achieved outstanding results, scoring above the world average. Their success in this challenging event not only reflects their mathematical mental math abilities but also their confidence and perseverance on an international stage.
Another remarkable performance took place during the Universidad Antonio Nariño Math Olympiad. Once again, students from grades 3 to 5 shined by earning top positions in the first of four rounds. Benjamin Bonfanti, Juan Camilo Sánchez, Helena Heredia, Sara Medina from 5th grade and Jerónimo Rodríguez from 3rd grade helped position CAS in the first 15 schools in Colombia, an impressive achievement among many participating schools.
These competitions have not only boosted students’ motivation but also sharpened their mathematical thinking, preparing them for future academic success.
