In a delightful and educational activity aligned with the Eco Kids project, our Kinder students took a big step in learning about environmental responsibility by planting their very own lettuce seeds.
The initiative, which focused on caring for water and repurposing clothes and items we no longer use, aims to nurture curiosity and responsibility from an early age. This hands-on experience took place in the school lab, where students explored the different stages of horticulture through interactive discussions and observation.
Each student had the opportunity to plant their own lettuce, learning firsthand what it means to care for a living thing. Students were encouraged to ask questions, make predictions, and take ownership of their little plants.
Beyond learning about plant growth, this activity emphasized the importance of patience, responsibility, and sustainability. By connecting the concept of growing food with taking care of the planet, the students began to understand that small actions can lead to meaningful change, demonstrating that even the youngest learners can have an impact on our natural world.
