To celebrate the end of our project, our Nursery students shared their learning process with their families in a fun and interactive closing activity. Our day began with a lovely presentation where children participated in a play with songs and action, and confidently shared facts about animals they had learned about; it was wonderful to see their learning taken to this level of understanding, and additionally, to experience the growth in their communication skills and stage presence.
After the presentation, parents were invited to join their children on the green field for learning–through-play. Families had the opportunity to witness how the different curriculum areas and skills, such as language, science, motor development and social experience, come together naturally through our daily classroom routines with fun and educational games and activities.
This activity allowed families to connect with their child’s learning journey in an authentic and memorable way. This was a great way of celebrating learning, strengthening home/school connections, and acknowledging the fact that learning in nursery and at this age happens best with joy and by working together – an incredibly special experience for our nursery students.
