Transition Students and Teachers Bring the Past to Life
The launch of the Transition project “Messages Through Time” was an exciting and meaningful experience for both students and teachers. To introduce the topic, teachers performed an engaging and creative play that took everyone on a journey to the past, showing how people used to send messages in different ways. Through characters like a mother, her daughter, a messenger pigeon, and even a horse rider, children discovered that communication was not always as fast and easy as it is today.
The students showed great interest and enthusiasm as they watched how invitations were sent using typewriters, pigeons, postal services, telegraphs, and early telephones. They were surprised to see how long it could take for a message to arrive and how much effort was needed in the past. The interactive moments of the play allowed children to participate, share their ideas, and compare these methods with the modern alternatives they use today.
This inspiring beginning has opened the door to a year full of inquiry and discovery. Transition students and teachers are now invited to continue exploring how communication has evolved over time. Through a variety of fun and meaningful activities, they will deepen their understanding of how messages have connected people throughout history and how they continue to do so today.
