With the 2026 FIFA World Cup approaching, one of our third grade students wanted to share some exciting facts about the tournament so that everyone can learn more about this global event, support the Colombian national team, and enjoy the excitement of the World Cup together.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be historic because for the first time ever, 48 national teams will compete in the tournament. The event will be hosted by Mexico, the United States, and Canada, bringing together fans from all around the world.

According to our student reporter, Colombia will compete in Group K alongside Portugal, Uzbekistan, and Democratic Republic of the Congo. Colombia’s first match will take place at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, one of the most iconic stadiums in football history.

The tournament will also feature matches at famous venues such as SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, and the final match is expected to take place in New Jersey.
