In Preschool, learning math is all about exploring, moving, and learning through meaningful experiences. From an early age, children begin developing important math skills through play, conversation, and hands-on activities that help them make sense of the world around them. By creating engaging and joyful learning opportunities, we help students build confidence while discovering that math is not only important, but also fun and part of everyday life.
In Pre-Kinder, students are learning to recognize numbers from 0 to 10 and identify different shapes. Through songs, games, sensory activities, visuals, and hands-on manipulatives, children explore math concepts while actively participating in the classroom. During center time, students enjoy matching numbers, building shapes, counting objects, tracing, and taking part in activities that make learning feel natural and exciting.
In Kindergarten, students are exploring numbers from 0 to 20 through a variety of interactive experiences. Using manipulatives, visual supports, counting activities, and math centers, children practice number recognition in meaningful and engaging ways. These activities help students connect numbers to quantities, strengthen their counting skills, and grow in confidence as they learn alongside their classmates.
Through collaborative activities and meaningful experiences, our Preschool students continue building strong foundations in math while developing a positive attitude toward learning. At CAS, we believe that when children learn through play, curiosity, and exploration, they build skills that will support them far beyond the classroom.
